I recent went to see for the first time the brand new house of some relatives. They were excited to show me and I was excited and happy for them to see the wonderful place. It soon came up in conversation, though, that they hadn't yet really thought about the best house insurance policy for them! I couldn't believe it and told them about some options, such as possibly MoneySupermarket. This came up because I pointed out where it seemed to me there should be another couple of smoke alarms. So once that seriously important stuff was out of the way, we carried on having fun looking at choices they had made in details such as moulding, window casings, etc. I noticed more so than ever how those kinds of things can really set the stage for the rest of the décor. They said, in fact, they had realized this in the selection process and made sure to choose according to how they wanted the overall feel of the house to come together in the end. For example, even though they preferred a certain type of crown moulding, it was really too formal for the ultimate look and feel of the house, and so chose one that was more suitable to that vision. They are now so happy with everything.

A friend was telling me about this furniture online shop she was browsing. She loves–I mean really loves– browsing for furniture! She was looking for a couple of what she would consider perfect designer sofas. This person is the kind who reads about different styles, and periods; she really knows her stuff, knows a lot of the history of furniture styles and about interior design. I'm not as informed as she is, but I do enjoy it too, and I've seen with my parents' home that furniture is essential to a home remodel. In fact, my dad didn't want to renew as many pieces of furniture as my mum did, until he realized how out of place a few of the old pieces were in the newly remodeled space! He saw the light and is very comfortable with how the whole remodeling, along with the new pieces of furniture they chose, as turned out. My mum is pleased with the project…and almost more pleased with the fact that my father's so happy with it!
